Eure Eminenz,
als katholische Theologen und Philosophen, Kirchenhistoriker und Seelsorger schreiben wir Ihnen in Ihrer Eigenschaft als Dekan des Kardinalskollegiums, um Sie [darum] zu bitten, dass das Kardinalskollegium und die Patriarchen der katholischen Kirche gemeinsam tätig werden, um auf die Gefahren für den katholischen Glauben und Moral zu antworten, die von der Apostolischen Exhortation Amoris laetitia, erlassen von Papst Franziskus am 19 März 2016, ausgehen. Diese Apostolische Exhortation beinhaltet eine Anzahl von Aussagen, die in einem Sinn verstanden werden können, der sich gegen katholischen Glauben und Moral richtet. Wir haben die Natur und den Grad der Irrtümer aufgelistet, die Amoris laetitiazugeschrieben werden könnten. Wir fordern die Kardinäle und Patriarchen dazu auf, den Heiligen Vater zu bitten, die in dem Dokument aufgelisteten Irrtümer auf definitive und abschließende Weise zu verurteilen, und autoritativ festzustellen, dass Amoris laetitia nicht verlangt irgendeinen diesen Irrtümer zu glauben oder sie als möglicherweise wahr zu betrachten. Um der Bequemlichkeit der Patriarchen und der Mitglieder des Kardinalskollegiums willen, werden wir jedem von ihnen eine Kopie dieses Briefes und das Dokument, welchem er beigefügt wurde, zusenden.
